The AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) concept is based on the partnership between customs and trade introduced by the World Customs Organisation (WCO). Trading companies that voluntarily comply with a set of criteria and work closely with the customs authorities to achieve their joint mission of secure supply chains are eligible for benefits throughout the EU.
